OpenALPR Cloud Stream enables automatic license plate recognition from any IP camera...you don't need to spend ten thousand dollars on a proprietary "LPR camera", nor do you need to use complicated and costly video management software. The OpenALPR Agent recognizes license plates and the Cloud Stream portal displays results, which can be viewed and searched from anywhere with a web browser.
As we said...OpenALPR works with any IP camera, but if you own an Axis camera and sign up for a Professional account, we offer a specially-designed app (Agent) that makes installation and management extremely simple.
For Professional account users, the OpenALPR Axis camera Agent uploads videos directly from the camera to the OpenALPR Cloud Stream portal where they are processed and retained for 60 days. No server or VMS software is required. OpenALPR handles all the heavy-duty processing to extract license plates from video streams and provides results on a easy to read Dashboard. Again, there's no additional hardware or software to install or manage - which is a huge cost and time savings. Simply install the OpenALPR app on the Axis camera, create a Cloud Stream account and we'll take care of the rest. Software updates are applied automatically so you’re always be getting the latest accuracy and features. A required microSD card (4 Gb) in the camera will buffer videos if your Internet connection goes down or is too slow to keep up. The Agent's intelligent bandwidth controls allow users to manage bandwidth utilization and all video clips are stored in the cloud where they can be played back via your browser.
For Basic account users, the Windows/Linux OpenALPR Agent works with any IP camera that supports H.264 and MJPEG streams. All video is processed on your own PC/server and the plate information is uploaded to the OpenALPR Cloud Stream portal where it is viewable for 30 days. This hybrid cloud service is a more affordable option because the license plate processing is performed on your own hardware and plate images are stored locally. Users define how much CPU and storage to utilize for the OpenALPR Agent which is managed through the Cloud Stream portal with a web browser. Minimal bandwidth is required because only the metadata is uploaded. Full resolution plate images reside locally and can be viewed on demand when the user requires visual verification.
For Free account users, data retention is limited to 2 days and users are required to logon to the Cloud Stream portal to view results. Just like the Basic account, the OpenALPR Agent works with any IP camera and will run on 64-bit Windows or Ubuntu Linux 16.04 operating systems. If you require alert notifications, enhanced search and longer data retention you can upgrade your Free account to a Basic (or Professional account if you are using an Axis camera)at any time by entering your credit card information and those features will be unlocked and you will be billed accordingly.
that's right... free

We use a variety of industry-standard security technologies and procedures to help protect your license plate data and personal data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. When you enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number) we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). We do not store your credit card information. Rather, we partner with a certified PCI Service Provider Level 1 merchant gateway. This is the most stringent level of credit card security certification available.
License plate data is similarly encrypted with SSL when sent to OpenALPR. The license plate images are persisted on your OpenALPR Agent systems. These images can be served within your network and do not need to be transferred over the internet to be displayed. The license plate data is stored on password-protected database systems that are kept isolated in a private network.
We also require you to enter a password to access your account information. Please do not disclose your account password to unauthorized people. Despite these measures, you should know that OpenALPR cannot fully eliminate security risks associated with license plate data and personal data and mistakes and security breaches may happen. If you have any questions or concerns about security, please contact us.
Every new account is automatically setup with a two week trial. If you love OpenALPR Cloud Stream after your initial free trial period (which we know you will), just enter your credit card into the system and select either the "Basic" or "Professional" account plan. Billing will begin automatically. You may also prepay for an annual subscription by invoice if you prefer. Contact us to make those arrangements.
After two-weeks, if you do not choose a paid plan, your account will revert automatically to a "Free" account. You do not need to enter a credit card and you will not be billed. If you choose to delete your account you may do so at any time. Please let us know what we could have done better if you decide to hit the road.
OpenALPR includes support for a number of countries. The software includes trained data for North American style and European style plates. These styles work well for a number of countries that use similar looking plates but may not necessarily be in that region like Australia, Korea, Singapore, United Kingdom, etc. For countries with plates that look significantly different, OpenALPR can be trained to recognize them. We offer training services as a paid consulting engagement. You may also train the software yourself. See our documentation for more details.
OpenALPR will work with any IP camera that supports H.264 and MJPEG streams. You don't need to buy an expensive "LPR" camera. However, if you want to read license plates at night, you will need a camera that can "see" in the dark using infrared (IR) light. Consult your camera manufacturer for the streaming URL (e.g. http://username:password@IP Address/axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi)...you'll need to know this information to configure the OpenALPR Agent.
You will receive an email. Click on the link to verfy your email and activate your account. Login to the OpenALPR Cloud Stream portal and click on "Getting Started" which will walk you through the process of downloading and configuring the OpenALPR Agent.
We'll respond to your inquiry promptly... promise.
Create a Cloud Stream account right now... it's free for 14 days and no credit card is required to sign-up.
Install the appropriate OpenALPR Agent for your platform - Windows/Linux/Axis.
Enter your camera's streaming URL and the OpenALPR Agent will automatically connect and start processing plates. See the Dashboard for results!
